Recently, a team of reporters from the Hunan Satellite TV News Center paid a special visit to Changsha Sunye Electric Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Sunye Electric") to conduct an in-depth interview with Mr. Gong Jian, General Manager of Sunye Electric. The visit was centered around the company’s recent honor of being selected into the “2020 Hunan Provincial Small Giant Enterprise List.” During the visit, the media team also toured the production lines and assembly workshops within the industrial park, and engaged in discussions about future development trends in the manufacturing industry.

Unafraid of the Pandemic, Government and Enterprises United

       The outbreak of the novel coronavirus during the Spring Festival in 2020 brought huge challenges to our production operations. Fortunately, with the government’s support, we were able to resume work quickly while ensuring efficiency and contributing to local epidemic prevention efforts,—stated Mr. Gong Jian, General Manager of Sunye Electric.
      According to Mr. Gong, during the pandemic, the local government introduced various preferential policies to help businesses resume normal operations, including leadership-led material coordination, on-site expert guidance for epidemic control, and reductions in social insurance payments — all of which played a crucial role in ensuring smooth business operations.

      In the interview, Mr. Gong also mentioned that whether during the pandemic or when Sunye first entered Hunan, the government has always played an indispensable supporting role in the company’s growth journey. Going forward, continued collaboration between enterprises and the government will be essential in building stronger communication bridges, enabling mutual responsiveness and coordination, and jointly contributing to the formation of advanced high-tech industrial clusters across the province.

The Rise of Hunan Giants, Innovation as the Breakthrough

      Finally, under Mr. Gong’s guidance, the entire media team visited Sunye Electric’s production and assembly workshops, where he provided detailed introductions to the company’s three core production lines: the 0.4–4kW inverter assembly and testing aging line, the BM series dedicated machine inverter assembly and testing aging line, and the 5.5–15kW inverter assembly and testing aging line.

      During the tour, the reporter raised questions regarding how Sunye Electric can better play its role as a model enterprise among the “Small Giant” companies. In response, Mr. Gong shared his insights based on Hunan Province’s development of three trillion-yuan-level industries — equipment, materials, and consumer goods — since the 13th Five-Year Plan:
      He believes that in today’s manufacturing landscape, a group of enterprises representing China’s top levels and directions is gradually taking shape. Particularly in the power semiconductor industry, where Sunye operates, it is at the heart of this transformation. For brands aiming to become global manufacturing leaders, the key lies in formulating smart strategies that integrate into the overall design, R&D, and production systems, accelerating industrial ecosystem upgrades, and paving the way for foundational industries to achieve greater breakthroughs.
