When the frequency converter interferes with the instruments and meters, what methods should we use

During operation, inverters generate harmonics that can cause interference in nearby systems or instruments. Interference faults caused by such disturbances include significant measurement errors in instruments, failure of some instruments to function properly, and even erroneous system operations. High-power harmonics produced by inverters follow similar pathways as general electromagnetic interference: through circuit coupling, electromagnetic radiation, and inductive coupling, leading to interference voltages or currents. It has been shown that strong electromagnetic fields on-site and fluctuations in the power supply are primary sources of interference affecting instruments connected to inverters. However, a quick method to determine if the interference is indeed caused by the inverter involves stopping the inverter when interference occurs; if the instruments and systems return to normal immediately, it can be confirmed that the interference was due to the inverter. This method isn't always correct and requires analysis based on specific circumstances.

Technical personnel believe that at sites experiencing interference faults, the following measures can be taken to overcome interference from inverters to instruments:
1. Add filter circuits in the instrument's circuitry to block or bypass interference signals.
2. When the instrument features digital filtering, set a certain time constant to suppress interference.
3. Use shielded cables for signal transmission and ground the shielding layer at a single point.
4. Parallel a 4.7 microfarad / 100V capacitor across the transmitter's output signal terminals or connect capacitors between the output signal line and ground.
5. Ensure that the negative terminal of the signal line is grounded.
6. Employ signal isolators.
