Common sense for using a frequency converter: How to reset the original parameters
Inverters have many setting parameters, each with a certain range of choices. During use, it is common to encounter situations where the inverter cannot operate normally due to improper parameter settings. Therefore, it is necessary to correct the relevant parameters.
B. Minimum Operating Frequency: This is the minimum speed of the motor. When the motor operates at low speeds, its heat dissipation performance is poor. Prolonged low-speed operation can lead to motor burnout. At low speeds, current in their cables also increases, which can cause cable overheating.
C. Maximum Operating Frequency: Generally, the maximum frequency of an inverter is 60Hz, though some can reach up to 400Hz. High frequencies make motors run at high speeds, so for ordinary motors, their bearings cannot withstand prolonged operation at rated speeds. The rotor must be able to handle such centrifugal forces.
D. Carrier Frequency: The higher the carrier frequency, the greater the harmonic content, closely related to factors like cable length, motor heating, and inverter heating.
E. Motor Parameters: Set the motor power, current, voltage, speed, maximum frequency, etc., directly from the motor's nameplate.
F. Skip Frequencies: Resonance may occur at certain frequency points, especially when the entire device is relatively high; when controlling compressors, avoid the surge point of the compressor. Inverters have many functional parameters, and users can select dozens or even hundreds of parameters. In practical applications, not every parameter needs to be set and debugged. Most only need to use factory settings.
Acceleration and deceleration time.
Acceleration time is the time required for the output frequency to rise from _0 to the maximum frequency, while deceleration time is the time needed for the output frequency to drop from the maximum frequency to 0. Typically, acceleration and deceleration times are determined by the rise and fall of the frequency setting signal.
When accelerating the motor, limit the speed set by the frequency to prevent overcurrent; during deceleration, limit the descent speed to prevent overvoltage. The key points for setting acceleration time require limiting the acceleration current below the inverter's overcurrent capability to avoid overcurrent losses.
The key point for setting deceleration time is to prevent regenerative overvoltage caused by smooth circuit overvoltage, leading to inverter tripping. Acceleration and deceleration times can be calculated based on load, but during debugging, they are often negative. First, set longer acceleration and deceleration times based on load and experience, then start and stop the motor to observe if there are any overcurrent or overvoltage alarms; gradually shorten the set acceleration and deceleration times, repeating several operations under the principle of no alarms. This process determines the optimal acceleration and deceleration times.
