What functions and roles does a frequency converter have?

Inverters are commonly used on motors, primarily to help adjust the motor's operating power. In other words, the variable frequency drive (VFD) enables the motor to achieve variable speed operation and ultimately aims at saving energy and reducing electricity consumption. Additionally, VFDs can mitigate voltage fluctuations in power lines, as voltage drops could cause faults or operational issues in voltage-sensitive equipment within the same power network. By employing a VFD, the motor can gradually start from zero frequency and zero voltage, which helps to significantly reduce voltage drops and leverage greater advantages.

The functions of a VFD include:
