In the process of using inverters, not only hardware failures but also soft faults may occur. Do you know how to troubleshoot soft faults? Let's take a look at the explanation provided by Sunye Electric.
Phenomena:
(1) When restarting, the speed increases and trips immediately. This is an overcurrent phenomenon. The main causes include: load short circuit, mechanical parts jamming; inverter module damage; insufficient motor torque, etc.
(2) Tripping occurs when power is connected. Generally, this phenomenon cannot be reset. The main causes include: module failure, drive circuit failure, current detection circuit failure.

(3) When restarting the inverter, it does not trip immediately but trips during acceleration. The main reasons are: too short acceleration time setting, too low current upper limit setting, excessive torque compensation (V/F) setting.

Solutions:

1. Overvoltage
The inverter manufacturer explains that overvoltage alarms usually occur during shutdown, mainly due to too short deceleration time or issues with braking resistors and braking units.
2. Undervoltage
The main cause is that the voltage in the main circuit of the inverter is too low. Main causes include: one of the rectifier bridges is damaged or thyristor circuits do not work properly, which may cause undervoltage faults. Additionally, damage to the main circuit contactor can lead to loss of DC bus voltage, potentially causing insufficient voltage for charging resistors. Another issue could be caused by faults in the voltage detection circuit.
3. Overheating
Overheating is also a relatively common fault. Main causes include: excessively high ambient temperature, blocked fans, poor performance of temperature sensors, overheated motors.
4. Unbalanced Output
Unbalanced output typically manifests as motor vibration and unstable speed. The main reasons include: defective modules, defective drive circuits, defective reactors, etc.
The above are five solutions for soft faults in inverters provided by the inverter manufacturer, hoping to help everyone.
